Fremont street.

Good evening. Last week, we went down to Fremont street with some friends, Dan and Daniel...

They hadn't been down there is several years, so we showed them the new Circa.
We had a very nice time. And while we were there, we had lunch at Nacho Daddy., just off Fremont street.......

This place has the best nacho's!!
And Dan had to try their famous Scorpion shot.....

Yes, that's a real dead scorpion in that shot glass. Stinger removed....
He downed it and we thought he was going to throw up. I probably would have!
But it was fun over all. and great weather!

a mid August post.

Good morning. Here's some pics from one of my morning walks on the golf course....

Above are to fellow walkers, Dan and Daniel that I've been walking with a lot while Dave is on vacation.

I love walking the golf course early in the morning. It's cooler than the sidewalks, and very picturesque.
I'm currently watching 5 houses and getting mail for 4. Brian and Laura will be home next Tuesday, and Dave and Gloria will be home a week from Saturday, so that will ease up on my job.  :-)
I also was notified yesterday, that our board approved my appointment to the Property and grounds committee. My first meeting will be next Thursday.
We are picking up our jeep from the dealer today. We dropped it off yesterday for a recall issue. Something with the oil level or something.
And that's it for now....

More Muskegon.

Good afternoon.
I know, I'm on a posting roll!
While in Muskegon, MI, we headed to the beach. Muskegon sits on Muskegon Lake, and Lake Michigan.
Down near the lake is a very large beach bar, with good food and a nice view. It's gotten quite large over the last 2 years since we were last there.

They even have a stage and beach chairs for live music on the weekends. Look close, that's Lake Michigan in the background.
They had seating above, and on ground level, and it looks like they could have as many as 5 bars when they're really busy.

And of course, a city on the lake must have a fish sculpture, right!
That was near our downtown hotel. And the next pic has us enjoying some grub from a bar near the hotel.

The weather while we were there was near perfect. A bit humid the first couple of days, but a storm blew through and brought the humidity down along with the temps.
And as I always say. We got there safe, got home safe.....it was a good trip!

Horrocks Market.

Good morning.
In continuing our Michigan trip, it would be incomplete without a stop to Horrocks.
Horrocks Market is a Lansing institution. Been on the same corner for over 50 years. And has grown from a produce stand to an amazing collection of everything you can think of!

Above is their popcorn area, and below is the produce area.

They also have a fudge area.
They also have a gelato area, coffee area, the largest olive bar I've ever seen, a cheese counter that's 50 ft long, and on and on. You could spend an entire day exploring.
They also have a garden center with all sorts of whimsy.
And on top of that! A beer garden!

They've even expanded more since we retired. And they were right across the street from the hotel we stayed at.

Michigan visit with Mom.

Good morning.
We've just returned from our 10 day trip to Michigan.
Saw friends, former co-workers, and of course, my Mom.....

I actually visited her 3 different days over the 10 day period. I thought she'd enjoy that more than one long day.
So we ended up doing a lot of driving back and forth between Muskegon and Lansing, where we lived before retiring to Vegas, so I could see her on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I really enjoyed spending time with her, since I couldn't see her last year.
And, I've got more pics of our trip to post, and I plan on doing that later.
