End of October post.

Good afternoon.
It's the end of the month....so probably time to post something..   :-)
Here's a pic Gloria took of my little birthday party she threw for me....

They are such nice neighbors. Always bringing me food.   :-)
And our little rose we planted this past spring is in bloom again.....
Here in the desert, we have two blooming seasons for roses. Early summer, and early fall. They stop blooming when it get too hot, and start again as it cools.
Below, the Bells of Fire blooms all spring, summer, and fall, except when the temps get above 110.
And below, is some type of fungus....
You an see two of them growing here. They are in the front yard. I get one to two every year around the same area. They look very odd, and if you break them, a smoke like stuff comes out. Craig thinks someone is probably buried under there.........
And I made another pie!.....
The weather here is just perfect now. Cool mornings in the low 50's and highs in the mid 70's. I'm even getting Craig to walk in the afternoon!
Went online and looked at new Medicare prescription plans for next year. Found both of us one that will save us nearly $300 compared to what we have this year. I had Clear Springs, and Craig had WellCare, but we will switch to SilverScripts Jan 1st. It literally does pay to do your research every year. And, we can use the same Pharmacy we were using. We decided to keep our current Medicare Supplement plan, as they all were pretty much the same price this year for the coverage we like.
And that's it for now....

Mid October post.

Good morning,
I know, a long time since my last post. Seems like I'm only doing 2 a month.
Guess I'm just getting real lazy!
Anyway, here's a pic of the back yard......

And more pics of my morning walks, which I'm still doing every day.

I also made another Apple Cranberry pie. Craig's favorite.
And our community center addition is finally complete. I haven't been inside yet, but the few pics I've seen look really nice.
And the veterans monument they had between the buildings, before they hooked them together, has been relocated to the front.
The front entrance is just to the right of the monument.
Had a real nice birthday. Had lunch that Friday at the casino, and we gambled for a while.
Another day, had lunch at the 3100 grill at our golf course. The first time since February. and also had lunch at the Phoenix Bar. Then, our neighbor Gloria and Dave had us over for In and Out Hamburgers.
Hadn't had those since we moved out here. They were very good. And then she had cake. Sooo, I ate my way through my birthday! So I've been doing extra long walks this week!   :-)
The weather has cooled a bit with highs in the upper 80's to low 90's. Low humidity and just perfect!
Tore out my summer Vinca and planted the fall geraniums. It's so nice having flowers year round!
And, that's about it!

new furniture.

Good evening. Again, a very late post. I'm really getting lazy!
So here is a couple of pics from my morning walks.....

Our community is so beautiful! I love walking and seeing the golf course and mountains!
And here is our new living room furniture....

Our 'old' couch and chairs had really started to peel after only 4 years! I did some research, and found bonded leather only lasts 3-4 years. Why would they even sell that crap! So, this stuff is 100% total polyester. It's suppose to last 10-20 years depending on use and care....We'll see.   I would have gotten leather, but they just don't have the style selection.
Anyway, we love the new stuff! Very comfortable!
The weather has been perfect! Highs around 100, and lows in the 70's. Should only be in the 80's this time of year, but we've been on a warm trend. Not complaining. Ate out again yesterday at TGI Friday's. Had a real nice meal. Felt very safe as everyone is wearing masks. The governor here is loosening more restrictions this week, so we'll see how things go.
Stay safe. Wear your mask.
