Our weekend was spent at Campit Resort, near beautiful Saugatuck MI. The weather was perfect! Our first trip this year with no rain! The only glitch was when we arrived Friday morning, they had no power. Strong storms went through on Wed. night, and power was out all over the area. Didn't know when it would come back on. So we checked in, and went to our site. We were in the Westwood addition. The campground was packed! People thought we were crazy to put up our awning lights with no power, but I just said I was an optimist, and was expecting the power to come on soon. Some of the campers had been here since the storm hit. So they had been without power for 2 days so far. T
he campground had generators going for the wells, sewers, and pool. And you could hear RV generators going thru out the campground. We also have our own generator, but didn't want to use it unless we really needed to. But the power came on around 9pm. And we were lucky, because other areas were still without power Sat. But like I said, the weather was perfect! And we even ran into a couple we had met at Freedom Valley campground a few weeks ago.

But we had a great time, and met more really nice people.
We love 'camping' in our motorhome!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you guys had a relaxing 4th. I'm counting down the days until our vacation. Even though the gas prices have forced us to alter our plans. :-)
ReplyDeleteWayne and Craig, we are scheduled for Campit for July 17th -21st.... wish you guys would have kept your regular schedule as it would have been nice to meet you. We really enjoyed meeting Derek and John in St. Louis.
