dead and done

Good morning.
It's been a busy couple of days.
My computer decided to quit on me. I woke it up from sleep mode, and no picture. I turned off the puter, waited, and turned it back on....no picture. Checked the monitor with my laptop, works fine. Decided the puter was dead. It was an XP from 2002. Craig suggested trying to hit the F1 button when I start it up. I said I don't even get the set-up screen, nothing at all. He said to try it anyway and I did. Somehow, I got safe mode and a screen. He thought I must have a virus. I ran my collection of anti virus programs. Got nothing. Figured the old puter was probably nearing the end. While it was still working, I turned off sleep mode, and started backing everything to disks. Then, I went on-line and found me a nice new puter. More power and memory than my old XP and for a fraction of the price. So Sunday was pretty much a wasted day as far as getting anything else done. But I'm happy I was able to get everything off the old puter I wanted.
I went into the salon yesterday morning, and managed to get 3 more tiles replaced. back home, I washed the mo-ho, Kia and Cruiser. After Craig got up, we went to Best Buy and picked up my new puter. Then the post office and Meijers. Back home, I managed to get the Kia waxed and 2/3 of 1 side of the mo-ho done. For a holiday treat, we had t-bone steaks on the grill with baked potatoes and corn on the cob. Those steaks were sooo good!
So far this morning, I've been busy getting my new puter set up and loaded with all my stuff. And it appears to be quite a bit faster then my old one. And the tower is about half the size of my old one too.
And the weather has been awesome! Sunny and low 80's. Lovin it!

  2. Funny. The screen on Ken's laptop went out. It was good you could afford a new one.
We're sending it off for repair. We have an old one we keep for emergencies so he's using that until his comes home again.
Your new one should be a lot faster than your old one. That happens every couple of years now. :)
