I caught one of the little bastards!
Sorry, I didn't mean to yell,
but I was very excited to finally
catch one of those
despicable foreign invaders!
They may look cute,
looks can be deceiving!
They can devour an entire
shrub in a matter of weeks!
I set three traps . Bait them with carrots.
Two smaller one's like the bottom pic
and a larger one like the top pic.
We've had snow on the ground now for some time, there's no grass or plants to eat, so the little bugger's are getting hungry enough to risk the trap's.
And for you animal lover's out there, don't worry.
I won't drown him in the creek, or twist his little head off with my bare hands!
He will be entered into the Wayne Relocation Program
He'll be sent f-a-r away to live the rest of his miserable little life terrorizing someone else's yard.......maybe yours!
If you come far enough to leave him in my yard, you'd better stop and say 'hi' :)

BUT they are soooo cute!! Don't you want him as a pet? (This is easy for me to say up here, knowing that the Wayne relocation program will not come this far with it....)
ReplyDeleteSorry Wayne, this is me, ken, with the anonymous comment above.

We actually have two rabbits that live in our yard. (Well, our yard most of the time, but I've yet to hear the neighbors complain.) We live in the country, though, and give them grain when we feed the horses. They do keep the skunks away from under our porch, so it's worth it to me to feed them.
ReplyDeleteThen again, we also have 2 cats, 2 dogs, 4 horses, guinea pigs, a chincilla, parakeets, fish . . .
Come to think of it, I'm changing my name to Noah.
BTW nice blog you have here. Love the background, and I'm a gaymer as well. (CivIII rocks!) I've added you to the blogroll.

I love your little place in the galaxy, it's very soothing!
ReplyDeleteGot one!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Please drive EAST not southwest with little bunny foo-foo, though, okay?
I have enough buns in my garden!
My grandfather used to do this with groundhogs in his yard. But he thought the same ones kept coming back, so he started spray painting their rumps with orange safety paint. Nope, none of the orange-butted groundhogs ever came back, he was just overrun with the suckers.
So, if anyone out there lives in the Cleveland area and sees orange-tailed groundhogs, now you know... the rest of the story.
By the way, I'll bet Craig could make a great Hassenfeffer!
cheers,
mo
Glad you caught him and glad he is still alive to find a new home!

I had to ask craig what that meant.
