it's not over yet!

As we move into October, there's still flowers blooming in the gardens. Here's a few....

The one above is Japanese Anenomes......

Then we have Gallardia.......
Fall blooming Shasta Daisies......
And the shrub roses will bloom till frost! Yes, fall is in full swing, but there's still flowers to enjoy. We're expecting our first frost, looks like next week. But right now, the annuals still look good.

Got down to 35 degrees this morning.

Need to get my yard in shape for the winter. So will spend a lot of time this weekend cutting down all the spent perennials.

Gorgeous! May your garden bloom in an abundance comparable to the number of icons on my desktop! ***GRIN***

  4. We have Japanese Anenomes in our garden also and they are always the last to bloom at the end of summer. Enjoy the flowers while you can.Isn't there something you can plant that will survive the weather where you live?

Here in Minnesota the floral growing season has all but ended.

We look forward to the new spring of 2008 - when the beauty of our greenery come forth again.

We've got five months of cold harsh snowy winter ahead of us.

  7. Wayne, those shots of flowers still alive and thriving are just beautiful! They won't last long, though, if it got down to 35 degrees. Too bad :(

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

  8. Very nice Wayne, good to see some beauty left but I hate to see winter come and end all your hard work! Most things around here are dead of course but my balcony protects my plants so I am even still getting some cherry tomatoes. The problem that is causing my plants to die is the lack of sunshine as our days get shorter.

    Steven.
