Going....going.....GONE!

We've had some crazy weather here in Michigan!
We had record snow fall and winter has just begun!
Our County Road Commission has already spent
it's entire snow plow budget!
With at least 3 months of winter left!

But we are having a reprieve.
At least a short one.
The first pic was taken on Dec. 30th,
just before the heavy snow hit.
The 2nd pic, Saturday, Jan. 5th.
And the 3rd pic Monday, Jan. 7th.

We went from a high of below 30,
to a high yesterday of 62!
Which was a record high!

Of course, now we are under a
flood warning.
But our house is on high ground,
so we needn't worry.
The forecast calls for slowly dropping temps
thru the rest of the week.

But we took advantage of the thaw,
and took down all the outside lights.
And finished putting away all the inside decorations also. I enjoy all the Christmas decorations, but it's also nice to have it all back to normal.

it's the same here in West PA. The temperatures were nice enough for me to do some star gazing from our deck last night.

We took advantage of the warmer temperatures here in Chicago to take down our outside decorations as well. We just finished putting away all of our inside decorations yesterday. It is definitely much more fun putting the decorations up than taking them down! You are right; it is a good feeling to get things back to normal.

I took down the outside stuff this past weekend in the warm weather. I'm sure that the cold will return.

After over 5 feet of snow totals last month at my house, it's all melting today: 60 degrees in Vermont, and sunny.

When I get home tonight I have to turn on the sump pump. Ugh.

  6. I'm just sure that you took full advantage of the blip of nice weather...and enjoyed it like one of the first (faux) days of Spring!

  7. Mother Nature is not a happy lady and she's messing with everyone's weather. I wonder why???

  8. We've had two days of record temps here - near 70! I took advantage of the weather to take down the outdoor Christmas decorations.

  9. The weather is kooky here in VA as well. Last week I couldn't put on enough clothing to ward off the chill; yesterday I wore a t-shirt and shorts. My sinuses don't know what in the hell is going on. Lots of people are sick.
But I'm doing well, and I hope you are, too.

  10. It's a rollercoaster here in SE Texas but always is till summer starts in late April. Great for the sinus and allergy sufferers.

  11. Yup, even nuts up here in Ontario! We had snow and cold weather since November which is a little unusual. Now this week we had 50 degrees for three days, the snow was almost to my hips in the fields and now we can see patches of bare earth and grass. So crazy!
