Good morning.
The 4th turned out to be a beautiful day. Partly cloudy, near 80.
We went for our morning power walk, and then a little drive around town. We seem to pretty much stick to our side of town , so it was nice going around and seeing what's new.
Our first stop was Cooley Gardens. My long time readers will remember when I use to volunteer for their annual spring plant sale. it was a fundraiser for maintaining the gardens. Even though it's technically a city owned park, to do much more than mowing took extra help. The sale provided enough money each year to hire 2 students from MSU to help out.
Well several years ago, the plant sale ended. Several excuses where made, but mainly, the head gardener was retiring, and the city had no money to hire another.
Anyway, we stopped and was very disappointed to see much of the gardens overgrown and weedy. They are still being maintained, but obviously not well maintained.
So, w then drove through downtown, and out to the east side where Michigan State University sits. We had a light lunch a t Reno's East, and then back home.
I painted the front patio, and cleaned the pond.
For dinner, it was steaks on the grill with a baked potato and corn on the cob. Delish!
Now, I've got another 2 days of work. No long weekend this week. :-)
And here's some more yard pics....
Doesn't corn on the grill taste great?
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks great, Wayne. :-)
