and it was good.

Good morning.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes here, on Facebook and e-mails. :-)
It was really a nice relaxing day. Let Craig sleep in while I washed the mo-ho and cars. Then we went out for the weeks grocery shopping. For lunch, I had a gift card to Red Robin. Never been there before. One of our stylist from the Salon who retired a year ago joined us. It was nice catching up. I had the Avocado, bacon burger, and Craig had the patty melt. Both were very tasty, but they were rather small for the $10 price. I guess they think the bottomless fries make up for it, but I'm not crazy about steak fries. To much soft potato and not enough crunch. Would not go back without another gift card. :-)
Back home we relaxed, read the paper, and I puttered in the yard.
For dinner, we cooked Craig's tasty wings! I must have ate over 2lbs by myself! Yummy!
Today will be filled with waiting. While Craig goes for an eye exam, I have Michigan Plumbing coming between 10 and 12 for an estimate on a new water heater, and Moore Plumbing coming at 1:30 for another estimate. Will be a good reason to clean . :-) I'll let you know where the estimates run....

oh no, not again!

Good morning.
Yep, it's that time of year again. The annual birthday. 58 years. Time sure does fly. And they seem to go faster every year.
No big plans today. I washed the mo-ho this morning. Did quite a bit of cutting back perennials yesterday while Craig mowed. The weather has been awesome!
Today, for my birthday, we'll go to lunch. I have a Red Robin gift card to use. Dinner will be one of my favorite dishes. A big plate of wings! Craig made up the marinade yesterday, and this afternoon he'll bake them up. He also got me a card and some smoked salmon. He's a good guy. :-)
If the mood strikes, I should do more yard work, but we'll see. :-)

a birthday trip

Good morning.
My lack of posts means just one thing. A trip!
We left Sunday for Detroit, and the Greektown Casino Hotel.
The occasion?
Craig's really big birthday!
That's right! One of those 'milestone' birthdays.
He hit the really BIG 60!
So we splurged a little going for a corner room on the top floor of the hotel. That's 30 stories above the city with floor to ceiling windows on 2 sides.
I'm writing this as I let Craig sleep a bit longer before we head back to Lansing.
We had a great time! Ate way to much wonderful Greek food in Greektown. Actually won a little money, and really enjoyed our stay.
I'll post some pics later after we return home.

it was a good day

Good morning.
First, thanks for all the birthday wishes.
I had a real nice day. I did almost nothing. I mostly lounged, ate and drank. Played on the puter, read, relaxed on the deck. It was a beautiful day. I did feel guilty enough that I spent an hour fixing the handle on one of the mo-ho bay doors. But other than that, I accomplished zip.
Breakfast was a bacon egg sandwich, dinner was ham steaks, mashed potatoes and asparagus, and an evening snack of chicken wings.
It was a good day.
This morning I take the Kia in for an oil change, a wiring recall, and to get mudflaps installed.
I'm also going to call Newmar and see if I can order those bay handle levers, that keep breaking, from them. I went to their website and was able to find the part in their online catalog, but I think it's for dealers only. We'll see.

It's that time again!

Yes, it's that time again, another birthday. I use to get excited and plan all sorts of things to celebrate, but not so much anymore. For me, birthdays now are more of a reminder how old I'm getting. The body really starts changing in your 50's. My hair's getting thinner, laugh lines are becoming wrinkles, even the texture of my skin is looking different.
But get away from the body issues and my life's looking pretty good. No big health issues, I'm living with my best friend, everything we have is paid for, so life is pretty good. Now if I could just get my 30 year old body back!
But today is a work day, and after work, I'll 'celebrate' my birthday with a special sparkling wine, and Craig's wonderful Teriaki Wings! I am a wing freak, so they'll be a treat.
And just for fun, I took this Rate your life quiz, and it backs up my thoughts on our life.

Compared to the average quiz taker, my life is better than average, and I pretty much knew that. So life marches on, at least for now. And here's hoping I'll be here next year to do this post again!
