working hard to eventually do less work

Good morning.
As expected, Saturday was very busy, and I didn't get home until after 5pm.
And of course, Friday and Saturday were gorgeous weather wise, and I had to work late.  :-(
But fortunately, I got one nice day off yesterday. This morning, it's raining, so no yard work today, and it's suppose to rain tomorrow too.. But I took full advantage of yesterday. I cleaned the Salon of course, bought some grass seed. Picked up some veggies for dinner. But back home I sprayed the stone path for weeds, did some lawn spot weeding, and took out another flower bed section....

Obviously, the dirt area you see is where the original flower bed extended to. I dug up everything, moved some to other beds, and composted the rest. Then I moved the concrete edging to form the new, smaller bed, and smoothed and reseeded. At least the light rain today will keep the seeds moist for quicker germination.
My flower beds still extend completely around the back yard, but they are now a lot thinner than before. And that means less weeding and deadheading.  :-)
I've probably removed nearly 1/3 of all my flower beds now.
After all the work, I was exhausted! Craig made a delicious dinner of pork roast with grilled peppers, onions and zucchini.
I slept real good last night.   :-)
We have our usual running this morning, and if the rain keeps up, I'll probably start work on yard sale pricing.
I've pretty much taken over Craig's side of the garage with piles of stuff I'm going to sell. Probably in early June. I need to get it all organized and priced.
Now time for me to get going.

  1. Pricing for a yard sale sounds like good rainy weather work.
    The dinner looks great, too!
    Enjoy your weekend,
