flowers and phones

Good afternoon.
Summer has arrived in the desert! It's in the low 90's this week, but thankfully only 1% humidity.
Here's a few pics from my morning walks.....
Yes, you can grow iris in the desert!
And the desert is an amazing place to grow roses!

And the ponds in the golf course attack an array of wildlife.....
Another view of the snow capped Spring Mountains off to the west.
My Fingerling Cactus in full bloom!
Spent the last couple of days looking at new phones.
Our current phones are fairly old and I was informed that on Jan of 2021, they will no longer work on their upgraded network. They are moving to 5G, and our current phones work on 3G. So....I went online and finally found newer phones. I won't spend the money they want for the latest phones. But of course, I did make sure they will be compatible with their new 5G. The main difference will be a larger screen, more memory, better camera and internet connectivity. So that will be nice.
I also cut a neighbors hair. People are starting to really look shaggy with day 44 of Nevada's stay at home order. A neighbor called and said she was going to cut her husbands hair and wondered if I could  come over and give her tips. So I put my mask on and went over. She didn't have a clue what she was about to do, so I said I'd do it. It was easier and quicker that way.   :-)
And now, she's bringing us takeout ribs for dinner to thank me. I said she didn't need to do anything, but she insisted.
I do like ribs!
So, our Governor, has extended the stay at home order through May 15th. He is allowing golf courses to open, and non essential retail to open, but only for curbside pickup. And everyone must wear face coverings in grocery stores. Doesn't sound like they'll open the casino's until maybe June or July.
But I can't imagine a lot of people wanting to come to Vegas right now anyway.
The only way we'll ever get back to 'normal' will be when they have a vaccine.
But for us, thankfully, things are going well. We're pretty much home bodies anyway.
Take care, and stay safe!

  1. Because the flu vaccine works so well?
It was nice of you to help your neighbor like that, and free food is always nice!
Lots of pretty scenery there. Thanks for sharing it!
