Dem nabit Rabbits

Well, I've been on the hunt again.
Rabbit tracks all over the yard.
No matter how much I keep
an eye on this,
They find a breach in my security.
Kinda like the hackers trying to get
into our computers.
They just keep trying.
Now I've got chicken wire woven
thru all the trees and shrubs
around the perimeter of the yard.
But with the deer and raccoons,
and assorted other critters that can
climb fences, I have to be
diligent on keeping everything
secure.
but it always happens, there develops
a breach, and the rabbits find it quickly.
But this weekend,
I got lucky and nabbed a couple.
Number one, Sunday in the first pic,
and number 2 on Tuesday in
the second pic.
You'll notice the lack of snow in the
second pic. We had a freak but welcomed
warm front come thru. It hit 45
degrees on Monday and Tuesday.
It won't last. A cold front is coming
thru this evening,
And tomorrow's high will only be 18.
But we enjoy any nice weather we can get.
Still a long winter to go.
Why I trap the Rabbits?
Well, click on the last 2 pics,
and you'll see. They eat everything
in sight! The first pic was a Yucca.
Just stubs of leaves left.
The second is an Evergreen Euonymus.
You'll notice, no leaves left, and the bark
nearly gone. Fortunately, they'll come back.
But it'll take a couple of years to regain what it looked like this last year.
And don't worry, no harm came to the little beasts! They just became the latest participants in the Wayne Relocation Program!

New Orleans

The following pictures come from Dave and Randy in New Orleans. They are full timing in their RV. Currently work camping at an RV park in New Orleans. We met them in Saugatuck this past summer, as they were heading south from their last job in Gaylord, Michigan. Originally from Palm Springs California, they are working their way across the country, one season at a time.
They took these pics on Bourbon Street, in the French Quarter.

Just shows with all they've been through, the still have a sense of humor.

2 years!

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more
Yep! today is my 2 year blogoversary!

2 years! Wow! Where has the time gone!
When I started this blog, I really didn't know what I was doing, or even why I was doing it. I started this blog as a means of keeping in touch with people I didn't see often. But over time, I've met other people who've stumbled on my little blog. And I've discovered other people's blogs I enjoy reading. It's been a fun trip!

I want to thank everyone who've left comments, and sent e-mails. I've met a lot of interesting people in cyberspace. And even a couple in person!

I look forward to sharing another year of our life.

Thanks again for all the support! Everyone's been Great!

brrrrrrrrrrr........

Winter has Michigan in it's icy grips. Yesterday's high.....13. Today's high.....10. And that's Fahrenheit, not Celsius! It would be -12 Celsius!
So today, we'll be staying indoors.
Craig has finally finished all his end of year paperwork for the business, so it looks like this weekend will be a relaxing, not do much, kind of weekend. And that will be nice. He took a puzzle out of cabinet to work on, and we'll do some fine tuning on the season's camping schedule.
With the business climate here in Michigan, we came thru the year down about 3%. Considering we took more days off work for our RV trips, and didn't have a price increase last year, we did okay. We will have to raise prices this year. Costs on supplies have gone up considerably, and so does rent and utilities. But customers are expecting it. I've been asked a lot if the prices are still the same. They know it's been a while since the last increase, and are expecting one.
Hope everyone stays warm. It looks like this cold weather is going quite a ways south.
