Friday

Good morning.
The weather has been amazing! We reached a record high of 81 yesterday and it's suppose to be the same today. Flowers are bursting out like crazy!
Work has been fairly uneventful. Have been taking pics of us and customers on the disposable cameras for Pat's retirement which today is her last day. I'll pic up the cake on the way to work this morning, which means 7 am. since the Salon opens today at 7:30. The entire staff won't be there as one is on vacation this week, and another is going in for gall bladder surgery this morning. But it'll be fun with the rest of us and the customers.
So anyway, that means I need to get in the shower, and get going!
Have a great weekend!

Spring is in the air

Good morning.
Another weekend over and it's back to work. And just in time for a weather warm-up of course. Most of the weekend was cold, windy and cloudy. Yesterday the sun came out, the wind died down and in the low 50's I was able to go outside and do some more yard work. And now that I'm going back to work, today is suppose to hit 70! and 80 by Friday! And of course, by the time my weekend rolls around again, it's suppose to drop back into the low 60's. Oh well.
Monday ended up as a lazy day. With crappy weather I was in no mood to do anything so I played on the puter all day. Craig did his usual bookwork and laundry, and for dinner made a tasty Tortilla Lasagna. It was very good and he made enough for leftovers, so that well be dinner tomorrow night.
Yesterday, with better weather, I did some more yard work, put out the deck furniture, and helped Craig change his PT Cruiser's winter tires to his summer tires.
We also picked up a balloon bouquet for our stylist Pat who is retiring Friday and dropped them off with a coupe of one time use cameras for the staff to take pics all week of her, them, customers, etc. for a final memento of her time with us. Friday I'll pic up and take in a cake we ordered and present her with gift cards we bought from a staff collection.
And for dinner it was Panko Chicken with fried cabbage and fried potatoes, yummy.
And... our first daffodil opened yesterday. In a couple of weeks, the yard will be bursting in bloom. Spring is nearly here!
Oh, and one more note, Mom has started her therapy on her newly healed fractured foot, and can take short walks. She's hoping to be well enough to go out to lunch with me when I go up for Easter. We'll see.
Now it's to the shower, and off to work!

Final Four baby!

That's right people! Michigan State is in the Final Four!
That was an amazing game! These injury plagued guys just wanted to win too much to quit.
Craig and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon game. It was a tense and stressful afternoon, but when it ended, it was all worth it.
And with the crappy cold wet day outside, I didn't miss working in the yard. And after the game, Craig fixed these tasty pork cutlets with stuffing and a Mexican veggie blend.
And we finished the evening with another episode of Spartacus. It was a good day.

Good morning.
I've just returned from cleaning the salon. You can tell spring is in the air. It smells so fresh out. And the birds are singing. I'm so excited! Now if it would just warm up! It's only 33 out right now and the high today is only going to be 50 with rain. Patience Wayne.
And as I said yesterday, here's the pic of the new pizza Craig made.

It's called a Chicken Cordon Bleu Pizza and was it ever tasty! For the recipe and more pics check out Cooking with Craig.

Of course, this is no substitute for 'real' pizza, but it was a tasty dish all on it's own.

Now it's time to take my shower and wake up lazy bones. We've got some grocery shopping to do, and our Michigan State Spartans are playing at 2:20 this afternoon.

Sunny Saturday

Good afternoon.
I know, an unusual afternoon post. That's because I got out of work very early today, and with it being to cold out, decided to get productive inside. So, I scrubbed the bathroom, and cleaned out Craig's puter. If you remember, I clean the inside of my puter once a year, usually sometime in February. And I did do mine, but for one reason or another never got around to Craig's. So today I did.
Here's the inside of his 'tower'. He has a mini tower. Isn't it cute? Well, underneath that large fan is a mass of fins.
Can you see the dust clogged fins behind the dusty fan blades?
And now, nice and clean. Quite the difference right? And now better air flow to keep the puter from over heating. So that's why it's important to open up the case once a year, and with canned air, blow all the dust out. Just make sure you hold the fan so it doesn't spin furiously and possible damage it. And that's your tech tip for today.
And last night we watched our Spartans win an exciting game against Northern Iowa to advance to the Elite Eight! Tonight we'll watch some of the other games and tomorrow we'll watch our Michigan state play Tennessee for a chance to go to the Final Four.
And Craig's making a new dish tonight, Chicken Cordon Bleu pizza. Doesn't that sound interesting? If it turns out, you'll see pics here tomorrow.
