a positive review

Good afternoon.
It's was a busy day yesterday, as I spent pretty much all of it in the yard.
I raked out more flower beds, trimmed bushes, and edged the driveway. I also changed the tires on Kia from snow tires to summer tires with Craig's help. We even had cocktails on the deck for the first time this year!
 Today with rain, I stayed indoors. I had planned to paint, but never quite got to it.
I tried to order the security door for Vegas, but the guy I need to talk to isn't in until 3pm. So that will be a little later. I did go online to Tracfone to add minutes to my phone, as my service expires on May 17th.
I ordered the one year card for $99.99. When I put in my payment, and clicked on the button, it sat and spun a while. Then I got the same page back with an error. So I didn't know if the payment went through or not. And I received no confirmation. I checked my charge card online and it had a pending payment to Tracfone, so I called to get it straightened out. After way to much time holding, I did finally get someone and did get everything straightened out.  :-)
Oh, and I'll sing praises for my Tracfone!
Last year, Tracfone finally added some smart phones to their offerings and I bought the LG Optimus Dynamic.

Now, it's an older smart phone with a 3.8 inch screen, but for the price, you can not get a smart phone for so little money a month!
I get one year of service for just a total of $106.00  That's just around $9 a month! Can any of you get a smart phone for any where near that? I didn't think so.
Now of course, there is one little catch..........
You get just 1200 minutes talk, 1200 text and 1200 data. So if you use it a lot, it's not a good deal. But you can add another 4500 minutes of each  for just $199.00. That would still be less that $30 a month. I use mine a fair amount and never come close to using up my minutes. I now have over 6700 data, 7200 talk, and 7400 text. They keep rolling over if you don't use them.  :-)
And no, I'm not doing a paid advertisement for Tracfone. I just can't see spending any more than you need to.
And....Tracfone just added a few newer phones to their website. One has a 5 inch screen! But I'm going to wait until the price comes down some. My phone really is large enough, I don't have to have a newer phone,  but isn't bigger better?   :-)
And while I'm on a review mode, I also ordered more checks for Craig. He use to get them from his credit union, until they started getting so expensive. Now, he orders his checks for personal and business from Walmart.  With shipping and tax....$10.29. A third of what the credit union charged.   :-)
So, no work on the house or outside, but a lot online.
Tomorrow should be sunny and warm,  and it'll be back outside. I have a ton of stuff to do!

happy Monday

Good morning.
As expected, the weather yesterday was nice. Sunny, in the mid 50's, and not a cloud in the sky.
After Craig got up, I fixed us coffee and we read the Sunday paper.
We then ran out to get a few things for dinner.
Back home, Craig did his usual laundry and book work, while I gave the mo-ho a good thorough inside cleaning. While I did that, I ran the generator to get the stabil in the gas line, and I charged and stored the dump battery. Then, I washed the Kia and Cruiser. Then, I cut down more stuff in the back yard. Whew!
I also found time to vacuum. I was just like the little energizer bunny. :-)
I also added another year to my Tracfone. I tell ya, it's just the best bet for the money if you want a phone, but don't use it a lot. I get one year of service, no contract, no monthly bills for $99. Because of the phone I bought, I get double minutes for life, and they always are running specials for bonus minutes, so I ended up getting 1000 minutes. And since I never use them all up, they keep rolling over. I now have 2978 minutes. Wanna talk? :-)
For dinner, I cooked a turkey breast on the grill, and Craig made Julienne potatoes and asparagus.
Today is suppose to be 62, so I hope to get more yard work done.

Craig update

Just wanted to let all of Craig's well wishers know his hand is doing much better. It was a little stiff yesterday morning, but after soaking it a bit it loosened right up. Still was a little swollen but that too did improve during the day yesterday. It should be back to normal by the end of the weekend.

Work has been steady this week, and I'll be working late today and also going to the Alzheimer facility to do my customer there.

With rain all night last night, the snow is pretty much all gone. I hope it stays that way. But with Michigan, we've had blizzards in April so I won't hold my breath.

I also received my new Tracfone in the mail yesterday. Got It charged up and went online to activate it and transfer my minutes and phone #.

My new phone is on the right. It's even smaller than my old one. I like the fact that I don't have to open it up to see who's calling. There's a screen on the front that shows the number. My old one I had to open to see the # and then push the send button if I wanted to talk. This one I open to talk. Of course, it'll take 24 to 72 hours for the transfer to be completed and I can't use the phone until then. You'd think in this computer age, everything should be instantaneous. I don't understand why it'll take so long. But it's worth the inconvenience for such inexpensive good service.

busy, busy

Good afternoon. Sorry for being so late today. I've been very busy and just didn't get a post done this morning. Did you miss me? Hello! Anyone there?

Anyway, I went in and cleaned the Salon, and after that decided to replace the washer lid.

As you can see, the old lid was rusting away something fierce. Almost every time I opened it to do a load of towels, a chunk would fall in. I had ordered a replacement some weeks ago, but discovered it was going to take a bit of time to replace. Well, I did that this morning. And doesn't the new one look good?

Why it was rusting, I haven't a clue. Except they just don't make things the way they use to. And of course, it took longer than expected. the little bolts that hold the door arms had star indents, so a regular phillips or straight screwdriver wouldn't work. I had to run home and get my drill set to get one that fitted. Why can't they make a standard for everything instead of needing hundreds of different tools? But anyway, when I went to leave for work, I couldn't get my cell phone to turn on. So I figured it was a weak battery, and plugged it in and took Craig's. Well, 3 hours later and still no power. So it's a bad battery or a dead phone. I went online to find a new battery, and I can get a new phone cheaper. Go figure. So I ordered a new one for $14.95. And when it arrives, I'll transfer my phone number and minutes. And that phone isn't even 1 year old! It is probably still under warranty, but with the time to send it in and wait for it to come back, it's worth it to just buy a new one.

Then we booked another camping trip. You can only book state parks 6 months in advance. I was 4 days late and there were only 9 spots left in the campground, but we got a pretty good one.

So that was my busy morning. And the rest of the day, I'm not doing much. Except catching up on my blogs, and playing games.

Pretty Flowers

It was a beautiful day yesterday. We mowed the yard, and Craig did laundry, and made a pasta salad to go with dinner, while I washed and waxed the back of the mo-ho. We also added another year on Craig's Tracfone. His expire date was the end of Sept. but I got an e-mail offering an extra 200 min. if we did it now. So it was $99 for another year and 400 min. plus 400 bonus min because this phone gets double min for life, and then another 200 bonus min. for renewing now, for a total of 1000 min! He now has 2840 min. I don't know how he'll ever use that many, but he has them just in case. My phone service doesn't expire till Dec. They screwed up and gave me almost 2 extra months when I transferred my service from my old phone to my new one. And no, I wouldn't tell them. That's what Tracfone gets for outsourcing their call center to India where you can barely understand their English. Fortunately, we can add min. online like we did for Craig, so I won't have to call unless I get another new phone.
And as promised, a few more flowers that are currently blooming in my yard.

This is Rudbeckia herbstonne. I like the green cones in the center. And this plant gets about 7 ft tall and will continue to bloom right through to a hard frost.

My new Tracfone

Yep! We finally broke down and upgraded our cell phones. We've used Tracfones for a number of years now and have had the same phone. For us, they're perfect. We have the convenience of having a mobile phone, with out the big expense. Our old one is first.

And here's our pretty new one! The antenna on my old one was ready to break off. And they had a good deal on an upgrade. $29.99 for a new phone, and double minutes for the life of the phone. We don't have a contract with Tracfone. You buy the phone, and purchase minutes. We always buy a one year card for $99 and it comes with 450 minutes. So we only have to load minutes once a year, though you could add more during the year if needed, but we seldom use our phones, and the minutes roll over. I now have 1722 minutes. I don't know why I thought I needed double minutes, but I did need a new phone, and who knows? Maybe I'll start using it more.

I recently did a small upgrade to my cell phone.

I've had a Tracfone now for about 5 years.

And the reason for the upgrade, was the

antenna was about to break off, and the

newer phones have the antenna built in.

What I like about Tracfone is there is no

monthly fee, no taxes, and no contract.

You buy the phone and buy the minutes as you need them.

It's a perfect fit for me because I don't

use it much at all. I have it because it's

nice to always be able to be connected

if you need to. And it has come in very handy at times.

And with the Tracfone, I can buy a

1 year card that gives me 450 minutes

for $99. And if I do it on-line,

I can get a bonus 200 more minutes for a total of 650!

That's only a little over $8 a month! And I've never used that many, so they keep rolling over. I now have over 1700 minutes. But you can add minutes during the year if you needed to.

The new phone isn't fancy, no camera

or Internet. But I don't need it for that. But I do like the slim sleekness of it. And it was only $20. And since Tracfone doesn't have it's own towers, I've never, not been able to get a signal.

And I know this sounds like an infomercial, but if something works good and doesn't cost a lot, I like to share that. I can't believe how much some people spend for their phone service!
